Bali is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the world, and rightly so as it offers incredible beauty, amazing private villas, and plenty of cultural experiences. But whoever said, “only meant for honeymooners” is wrong for my husband and I not only visited Bali with our baby but also made sure we enjoyed the country as much as honeymooners do! (actually more than that). And to tell you just how we did it, here are our experiences and tips from our perfect family trip in Bali.
Reasons to travel to Bali with a child
Cost-effective

Bali is a destination that offers excellent value for money when it comes to value for money. From accommodation to airfare to experiences, everything is budget friendly here.
Flexible itinerary

Thanks to TravelTriangle we were able to get a package tailored to Bali which made all the difference. Traveling to Bali with a baby meant we couldn’t go with the “fixed departure/arrival” type, so when we found out that they not only offer the best rates, but also a custom package, we all went!
It is a risk free destination

Bali is one of the most famous destinations in the world and is known for its excellent hospitality and this means that the chances of anything going wrong here are very slim. It’s also a destination that basically has everything great when it comes to tropical experiences (water sports, romantic experiences, cultural experiences, luxury, spa, etc). Also, since we were traveling to Bali with a baby for the first time, we didn’t want to take a huge risk by spending over the top in a destination we weren’t well acquainted with.

Fun things to do in Bali with a child
Indulge in water sports

Every kid loves water sports and ours was no different. Even though he was only 3 years old, he was not allowed to indulge in most of the activities, but nevertheless it was a joy to witness the amazing things one can experience in the ocean.
Go on temple visits
Uluwatu Temple

A little boring for a teenager, but visiting the temples in Bali was a great experience for our kid. The sunset we witnessed at Uluwatu Temple is hard to describe in words but it was straight out of our dreams!

note: There was a Kecak Dance too and even though it was included in our package our guide told us to buy the tickets as he wasn’t aware of that. As a result, we had to miss it! This is something we have regretted since that day.
advice: Always check your itinerary and listings from the agent at TravelTriangle to make sure everything is in place.
Tanah Lot Temple

One of the most famous temples in Bali, this one is perched on a rock and surrounded by the ocean which makes it not only a great attraction but one of the most beautiful places from which to watch the sunset. And true to its popularity, this place never fails to charm us.

Experience Bali Hai Cruise and Pontoon Nusa Lembongan

What an experience it was! As soon as we boarded the cruise, we felt the excitement that we were going to. Music, food and drinks, there was it all. The trip to the pontoon which to the common man is a kind of flat boat supported by tubes was amazing. Here on the pontoon, there was a guest lounge and arrangement of a range of water activities such as snorkeling and ocean slides. It was a really great experience for us and by the time it was over we didn’t want to leave.
Visit the magnificent Mount Batur

Mount Batur is perhaps the most famous volcano in Bali to witness and the views around it are mesmerizing. On our way to Ubud we also passed many lakes and all in all the trip was very rejuvenating. By the time it was over, my husband, son, and I were in sync with nature.

Enjoy the spa and dinner by the pool

No trip to Bali is complete without a spa experience and it was just as soothing as we could have hoped. Dinner by the pool although the romantic affair was even better because our son joined us this time. Overall, both experiences were worthwhile and can definitely be done even when you are in Bali with a child.
Now that we’ve brought you our best experiences in Bali with a baby, we’d like to jot down some tips for you.
Do’s and don’ts when traveling to Bali with a child
Stay at a kid-friendly hotel

This is very important because most real estate in Bali is all about providing the most romantic experience for couples many of whom are also adults. If you are in Bali with children, we recommend reliable hotel chains or staying in a hotel.
Carry sunblock

It goes without saying, Bali is located in a region with a tropical climate where the sun shines hard, hence it is highly recommended that you carry a high SPF (minimum SPF 30) sunscreen.
Research before you go or speak with an expert/agent

It is important to make it clear to your agent that you are traveling to Bali with a young child or children and that they should keep the itinerary as flexible as possible and ensure that the arrangements are child friendly which in our case, thanks to TravelTriangle
